Diffusing Essential Oils

To kick off this blog I wanted to talk about Diffusing Essential Oils, some back story: ever since I can remember I’ve been all about the scented candles and in the past it’s not been uncommon for me to have 4 or 5 on the go at the same time. Since I decided I was only going to buy only Cruelty Free candles (which whittled down my choices) it got me thinking- Is there another way to have a lovely smelling home? I did some online research and found one of the best ways is to diffuse essential oils 🙂 Not only do they smell great but they are beneficial to our health too!

I found this SOTO Aroma diffuser online here This one works with no heat source which stops it from degrading the oils – It also means it’s safe to leave it running whilst asleep. It’s incredibly easy to use, just fill with water using the cup provided and then add 6-8 drops of essential oil. It has LED mood lighting and acts as a mini humidifier and air purifier too! Since having it I’ve used it loads. My favourite combination is Eucalyptus and Peppermint.

Caution: Do not use Citrus oils in this diffuser as it damages the chamber inside.

I love the brand Tisserand for oils:  these are my favourites and what they are said to benefit:

Eucalyptus – Coughs, Asthma and Circulation

Ginger – Digestive Issues and Vertigo

Lavender – Insomnia and Stress

Peppermint – Allergies and Digestion

Tea Tree – Fights Infections and Viruses

Have you tried diffusing before? What   are your favourite oils or blends?

  1. Frankincense is my favourite essential oil! It is wonderfully calming and is great for meditation. In some African countries they believe burning it daily in the home maintains good health. Try it!
